Here is a list of up-coming Small & Green events. We are not just at 82 Mill Road, we like to turn up in and around Cambridge too!

31 August, 2nd November & 7th December | Ely Market | 8 – 3pm

Ely MarketsSmall & Green are VERY excited to be joining Ely Markets the 1st Saturday of every month, but check back here or in the shop as there are a few exceptions!

Good coffee served up by @silveroakcoffee @theyard_ely Spa day Soaps by @islesoapco Pet wear and wares by Becks, and so many more independently owned and run shops!

Sunday 22nd September | Green Rooms Market, Old Spitalfields | 9 – 6pm

green rooms market Old Spitalfields, LondonSmall & Green are – for the first time! – doing a Green Rooms Market on Sunday 22nd September.  These are organised by Sarah (The Plant Rescuer) and Ian of Liquid Gold Leaf (the plant food we sell).  The event will be held at the lovely Old Spitalfields Market in East London and there will be lots of workshops and talks, and displays by other fabulous indie retailers.  Do come along as entry is free and the market has great food stalls – so you can make a day of it!

6 May | Summer terrarium Workshop | 6 – 7.30pm

Garden House Cambridge Summer Terrarium event Garden House Cambridge Summer Terrarium event QR codeCelebrate the return of the sun with a fun, hands-on terrarium-making workshop.

During this 1.5-hour workshop, you’ll learn a bit about the history of terrariums and how they work, then dive into creating your own. Your ticket includes all the plants and materials needed to make a 17cm mini-ecosystem to take home. Get creative!

The workshop will begin promptly at 6 pm in the Garden House Cayley Suite. Arrive early to enjoy your complimentary welcome drink. Scan the QR code, or click here to book your place.

Cambridge Chocolate Festival 2024We are proudly sponsoring The Cambridge Chocolate Valentine’s Festival & Market again which returns to the historic Cambridge Union Society Debate Chamber on Saturday 10 and Sunday 12 of February, launching with an Opening Night reception in the Keynes Library with a film screening of The Chocolate War (Friday 9th). Tickets for the market on Saturday or Sunday are the £2 on the door.

The Festival is running various workshops as well and you can book these, the film and your entry to the Festival using this link to the Eventbrite page.

Saturday 2nd December | Mill Road Winter Fair | 10.30 – 4.30pm

Mill Road Winter FairMill Road Winter Fair is back! Saturday 2nd December 10.30 till 4.30pm. The whole road is closed for this event. There’ll be live music, a food fair and lots of stalls. We will be outside our shop with lots of lovely Christmas present ideas, plants, cards etc. Next to us will be the Garden Kitchen food and hot drinks stall selling Mulled wine and other treats.

2nd February | Cambridge 105 | 10.30am

Cambridge 105I am starting  a Radio slot on Cambridge 105 with Alex Elbro starting this Thursday at 10.30am.  It will be a chat about caring for houseplants and tips on garden care too.  We will do it probably every 8 weeks or so with seasonal ideas/tips, so make sure to tune in!

The Cambridge Chocolate FestivalWe are a sponsor of The Cambridge Chocolate Festival which is returning this year for a romantic, educational indulgent Valentine’s Weekend. The 2023 Festival opens on Friday evening and continues over the weekend. It will be hosted in the famous Debating Chamber of the Cambridge Union Society. There will be 20 choc and indie stalls, workshops and a competition to design next years event logo. We will be there on Saturday and Sunday – looking forward to seeing you there, especially if you’ve booked a Terrarium workshop with Anna!

Buy you tickets to the Festival on Eventbrite or on the door (£2) but it might get busy!

Flourish FarmFlourish Winter Market at Flourish Farm in Hildersham. There’s a cafe that has just opened on site and there’ll be lots of different stalls from over 20 producers.

 

 

Sunday 27th November | Clay Farm Eco Christmas Market | 10 – 2pm

Trumpington will be having its first Eco Christmas Market at the Clay Farm Centre in Hobson’s Square, CB2 9FN. There will be a variety of local, independent, eco-friendly businesses to purchase Christmas goodies from.

Friday 23rd September | Sad plant & pot sale and plant swap at 82! | 5.30 – 7pm

small & greenThe plants are not that sad really but they are not perfect, they might have a dodgy leaf, browning leaf tips, misshapen stem perhaps, but they need a good home and some TLC! We also have a few chipped, not quite perfect pots too up for grabs. Bring your own cuttings and/or plants from home that you’d like to swap (pest free and labelled please!). I’ll be bringing some too! It’s a great way to pick up a free plant to add to your collection.

A wonderful mix of stalls and food for a fun day out in the beautiful grounds of one of Barkway’s attractive old houses the market helps to raise funds for local charities. Parking is free and there is a small charge for admission.

Fordham AbbeyJoin us at Fordham Abbey gardens for their Daffodils and Cherry Blossom Garden Open day. The event hall cafe will be open for hot Japanese lunch and tea and cakes. Advance entry £10 per person and there are limited tickets available. We are located next to the cafe and Sake brewery! I am popping up with Ecojapan, The Essential Soaps and Ignium Candle Company.

I am running a succulent terrarium making workshop as part of a course organised by Cambridge Art Makers in Linton. This course is now fully booked but do check out the courses they run because there are a rich variety of wonderful arty courses available regularly to book such as jewellery making, needlework, watercolour to name a few!

Sunday 13th February | Chocolate Festival at Histon Smokehouse | 11 – 3pm

I am popping up at the very first Cambridge Chocolate Festival to be held at Histon Smokehouse. Sponsored by Click it Local and Small and Green. This runs from Friday 11th to Sunday 13th and has been curated by Riadh of Bumble and Oak.

Lots of events and things to do, see and eat. Book your table via Histon Smokehouse on their website, scrolling down to book through OpenTable at histonsmokehouse.co.uk On the Sunday I will be bringing lots of wonderful Small and Greens in one of the garden stalls and throughout the weekend there will be a selection of our handmade terrariums featuring on all of the tables inside the main restaurant for your to view and purchase. In the garden from 10 till 3pm with a host of chocolate makers and independent businesses who all love food!  Meadows, Barbarella, Bumble and Oak are among those popping up over the weekend.
