Care tips: This beautiful Calathea is sometimes referred to as the ‘rattlesnake’ plant due to the unusual markings on its leaves. One of the easier Calatheas to look after.  All Calatheas prefer rainwater to be watered with if you have access to it, tapwater can cause the ends of the leaves to brown.  If you don’t have access to rainwater we sell a new product by Grow Tropicals called Ecothrive Neutralise which takes out any of the chemicals in tapwater that certain houseplants do not like.  You can also try letting tapwater stand overnight before using it which allows the chlorine to evaporate.

Let the compost dry out at the surface between waterings and keep out of direct sunlight but in a bright spot.  Feed with a liquid fertiliser during the summer months only.
