Care tips: A striking deep purple Tradescantia which is one of my favourites. Some Tradescantias are semi-succulent which means they store water in their stems and leaves. Because of this they can tolerate being neglected for a while!
Let the compost dry out at the surface between waterings and keep out of direct sunlight but in a bright spot. They can tolerate some direct sunshine but watch out for any possible leaf scorch if left in the sun for too long. Feed with a liquid fertiliser during the summer months only.
Pet friendly: No, they are mildly toxic to animals.
